9. Around 148 people killed, the majority students, in mass shooting at the Garissa University College in Kenya, perpetrated by the militant terrorist organization Al-Shabaab.
10. A magnitude 7.8 earthquake strikes the serene nation of Nepal, causing around 8857 deaths in the country alone, and another dozen deaths in the neighboring nations.. A second quake followed soon after, this time, measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale and incurring another some 220 reported deaths in the south-east Asian countries.
11. Ireland votes legalize same-sex marriage, becoming the first ever country to officially allow same-sex marriage by popular vote.

16. Flight KGL9268, an Airbus AIR321 airliner en route to Saint Petersburg from Sharm-el-Shaikh, crashes near Al-Hasana in Sinai, killing all 217 passengers and 7 crew members on board
17. Chinese and Taiwanese presidents Xi Jinping and Ma Ying-jeou, officially meet and acknowledge for the first time.
18. Several suicide bombings occur in Beirut, Lebanon, killing 43 and injuring 239. The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant claim responsibility for the same.
19. Multiple attacks claimed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) in Paris, France, resulting in 130 fatalities.
20. Syrian Civil War- Turkey shoots down a Russian fighter jet in the first case of a NATO member destroying a Russian aircraft since the 1950s.
21. The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 21) is held in Paris, attended by leaders from 147 countries.
