Mr. Torsten Muller-Otvos, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said “Rolls Royce targets to sell more than 100 cars in India next year. In 2010, the company sold 80 cars which was a seven-fold increase over its sales in the previous year.”
With increasing number of enquiries for the Rolls Royce cars, the company perceives a need to expand its distribution network in India. As a result, the company plans to appoint dealers in Chandigarh in the North and Hyderbad in the South in addition to the ones already in Mumbai and New Delhi.
Mr.Muller-Otvos said “At the moment, our dealers are doing a great job but they are forced to transport the cars over long distances. Our network needs to grow there to bring the cars closer to our customers.”
The company is looking for an outlet either in Chandigarh or somewhere in Punjab,” Rolls Royce representative Pankaj Sharma told The Times of India here on Friday. It has been reported that Rolls Royce has received a large number of enquiries from prospective buyers from the Chandigarh, Jalandhar, and Ludhiana – all in Punjab. Sharma said, “During the last couple of years, appetite for luxury has increased in Punjab.”
To cater to this demand, Rolls Royce is planning to open its third showroom in India. The new showroom is expected to be in the city of Chandigarh.
