Exclusive Interview with Himanshika Sharma

Author Himanshika Sharma interacted with Spectralhues about her book, journey as an author, life experiences that inspired the story of her book and more. Following are the transcripts.

Tell us about your book in detail…

It is a story of an imperfect girl, Kriti and a perfect boy, Kunal. Kunal falls in love with Kriti just because of her simplicity and determination while Kriti thinks other way round for Kunal. Their love story faces many kinds of obstacles and where it leads its all about it.

Is the story inspired by real life experiences?

It is 5% reality and 95% fiction.

When did you realize that you wanted to be a writer?

After reading ‘I Too Had A Love Story’ by Ravinder Sing in 2011, I realized that I wanted to be a writer.

. what do you like to do besides writing?

I like reading, singing and hanging out.

Describe your book in one sentence…

A simple and cute love story.

 Any favorite authors who have inspired you?

I like every author and every author has inspired me with the efforts they put in a book.

How did you carry out the research for your book?

I talked to my friends about how their first day at college was and how their first trip was because I have never went to a college. So I researched a bit about college life.

Any message for our readers?

Just write from your heart. If you want to do it just do it. Just read. Read anything that you come across. Whether good or bad. Intersting or boring. Reading helps in a good write up.
