Strike by the workers of e-commerce giants Flipkart and Myntra is persisting since 6 days now. Though the giants are appreciated for their maternity leave policy, but the team has failed to keep the grass roots- the delivery boys happy.
Over 10,000 products are undelivered and the number seems to be increasing day by day. The offices at Fort, Lower Parel and Tardeo have remained unattended since Monday, thus leading to extensive accumulation.
Both the Myntra and Flipkart offices are seen encountering unreasonable issues. ” Uniforms, for instance, are issued as two sets a year, but the workers are asking for five. Also, they have a 6-day work week, and weekends are off are rooster-based, unlike long work hours being alleged by the workers,” an official said.
Logistics partner Ekart has been quite assertive with their statements, “we are making alternative delivery operations to ensure that all our shipments affected by this strike are reaching customers in the quickest possible way.”
Not to be forgotten; the workers are affiliated to the Maharashtra Navnirman Kamgar Sena. However, the HR departments of the respective companies have insisted a one to one discussion with the officials instead of dragging MNS’ intermediary, thereby testing the workers’ tolerance and patience.
