Entering into cinema industry, especially Bollywood; is not as easy as ABC. Here, fate decides everything and the one with the favorable stars sustains and makes it to the top. Such is the truth of this industry. Holding on to the rope of Bollywood is one of the toughest tasks ever and is not everyone`s cup of tea. Because, if we have a look over the actors/actresses of last few decades, even the most talented ones have lost their track and gone missing. None know the reasons behind their sudden disappearance after doing few hit films. When everyone was expecting just more of them, they either faded away or gave flops working non-magically at the box-office. An overview of such actors and actresses:
Amisha Patel
Almost everyone remembers pretty, cute Sonia from the blockbuster Kaho Na Pyar Hai and Muslim girl Sakina from Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. And the list of famous characters played by Ameesha Patel ceases here. After these two films, she came up in Kya Yahi Pyar Hai and Zindagi Ka Safar, but the films didn`t work very well at the box office. Now, she is all set with her home production ‘Desi Magic’ which is to release soon. Hope at least this plays some ‘magic’.
Diana Penty
Who can even forget this charming beauty? She starred alongside Deepika Padukone as a parallel lead in Cocktail and earned much more praises than her. At that time, she seemed a true competent to Dippy – everyone wished to see a string of film offers coming her way, as she created humongous fanbase with just one film. But later on, much to everyone`s disappointment, she didn`t play a lead role in any of the films after the super duper hit Cocktail. Anyways, it hasn`t been a long time, just 2-3 years since Cocktail released, her fan following is still carrying a ray of hope to see her in upcoming films soon.
Bhagyashree Patwardhan
Maine Pyar Kiya fame Bhagyashree is popularly known as Suman who starred opposite Salman Khan and became an instant hit. But her hasty decision to get married at an early age and her demands to do films with only her husband made her experience doom period in Bollywood. Once married, she returned to the entertainment field, but only through television daily soaps, which didn`t have impact up to a great extent.
Gracy Singh
This desi beauty wooed us all as Gauri in historical saga Lagaan with her realistic acting and super dance moves. She seemed a star material who could conquer the Bollywood easily. But unfortunately, apart from Lagaan and Munnabhai M.B.B.S, none of her films were instant hits – the reason being her selection of films. To top it all, her career chart got analyzed when she selected to play the lead role against the much famous controversy man KRK in Deshdrohi.
Zarine Khan
Said to be the copy of Katrina Kaif, Zarine Khan was introduced in this glam world by Salman Khan in the warrior tale Veer. Even in Housefull 2 she had very little to showcase her acting talent. Following which she tried her luck in Punjabi films. However, talking about Bollywood, her role was very less. She then, in an interview, blamed Katrina for her failure, because she thinks that comparisons made between both of them acted as limitations for her. Also, her weight was the main concern for which she was criticized. Really, a great approach shown by Indian audiences!
Mahima Chaudhary
An alluring actress, she impressed everyone with her looks and acting in Pardes. Known as Subhash Ghai`s discovery, she further did few hit films like Daag:The Fire and Dil Kya Kare. But again, the incorrect selection of films brought her from riches to rags in terms of fame and box-office hits. Despite winning numerous Filmfare awards and other coveted accolades, she didn`t last too long.
Very unfortunately, these actresses didn`t survive and sustain in this luck game of Bollywood. We hope that better decisions and equal opportunities provided don`t let this happen in future — otherwise, we might lose a great deal of talent!
