The wreckage of a US-military helicopter that had gone missing while investigating in Nepal after the quake has been found, according to the statement released by the Nepalese military.
The helicopter that had gone missing earlier this week with six American marines and two local soldiers aboard, amidst the delivery of aids near the Chinese border, elivering aid near the Chinese border, has been found around 56 km. off Kathmandu the capital city, with three corpses near the site of crash.
The latest earthquake that hit the Himalayan nation incurred at the least 110 lives just when the nation seemed to have been recovering from the devastating earthquake of 25 April that killed tonnes and caused great casualties.
Ground troops are now being deployed to search the wreckage. The helicopter, apparently, went missing hours later the second quake struck.
Although the cause of the crash remains under ambiguity, a nearby flying Indian helicopter is believed to have heard radio chatter about a possible fuel problem.
The helicopter had been flying from the Kathmandu city airport, as part of the US Operation Sahayogi Haat, which means “helping hand” in Nepali and Hindi.
More than a dozen US military aircrafts and other aids have been deployed to help carry out deliveries to areas cut off and devastated by the earthquakes.
