More than 700 people are believed to have been lost due to a devastating earthquake that occurred in Nepal, with many more feared trapped under the debris, according to the statement released to the media.
The quake of marking a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter Scale occurred in a region between the capital city, Kathmandu, and the city of Pokhara. Tremors and minor waves were felt throughout the belt, with also loss of life in the neighboring nations of India and Bangaladesh and also the regions near Mount Everest.

Minendra Rijal, the Information Minister of the nation, stated that there had been “massive damage” at the epicentre, however no much information is available regarding the same. An official spokesman told to the BBC, in his statement, that around 711 lives had been lost in the quake, 467 of them in capital city alone.
Rescuers and other life-guards were reportedly digging through the debris and other wastes of the collapsed buildings in the capital, trying to reach and save the maximum number of survivors. A number of historic buildings have been destroyed, along with several other casualties. Among those severely wrecked was the great landmark Dharahara tower, with many feared to be still trapped in its ruins.
After the earthquake struck, frightened residents came out into the streets. Mobile phones and other communications have been disrupted. There has been a mess all over, with the officials and other people trying their best to restore things back to normalcy.
