The Shiv Sena has once again attacked its ally BJP over supporting Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. The criticism at the editorial in the mouthpiece Saamana came just two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared platform with and praised Shiv Sena’s rival NCP chief Sharad Pawar.
Shiv Sena accused the BJP of supporting Bihar chief minister who refused to resign from the post despite being sacked by his own party. Calling it a ‘Sin to Back Manjhi’, Shiv Sena said, “Despite Nitish Kumar saying he has the backing of 130 MLAs, Manjhi is trying to get support of the BJP. The BJP is playing Manjhi against Nitish Kumar and this game will end with the trust vote. But supporting Manjhi is like inviting dark times.”
“Manjhi had said that he used to get commission for development projects…No one should commit a sin like supporting such a person for political gains. The BJP should decide if it wants to associate with someone like that,” it added.
Earlier Nitish Kumar alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party is “scripting” the Bihar crisis and supporting Manjhi from back. Thegovernor KN Tripathi has asked Manjhi to proof his majority on the floor of Bihar Assembly on Friday.
“First a delay by the Governor in taking a decision and then giving Manjhi more time shows that it is being done according to a script written in Delhi and to give adequate time to execute the license for horse-trading. It started after Manjhi met the Prime Minister,” Nitish Kumar had said.
