A 26-year old female American aid worker Kayla Jean Mueller has been killed by the ISIS militants, the White House confirmed. She is the fourth American hostage to be killed by the ISIS. Mueller was captured in 2013 from where she had been working as a humanitarian aid worker helping the Syrian refugees.
Reports of her being shot in a Jordanian airstrike surfaced days ago which were denied by the nation. Ambiguity regarding her death continued even in the White House until Tuesday, when the Obama administration confirmed the news.
The President has expressed immense grief over her death. ‘No matter how long it takes, the United States will find and bring to justice the terrorists who are responsible for Kayla’s captivity and death’ was further remarked by him.
Kayla is the latest addition to the list of selfless aid workers and journalists from the UK, USA and Japan who have been killed by the ISIS. Her selflessness has created a stir amongst the masses with them expressing their heartfelt condolences to the family.
