BJP’s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi refused to accept the accusation of being soft on the BJP, during social activist Anna Hazare’s India Against Corruption movement, put on by the Aam Aadmi Party. On Saturday, AAP leader Kumar Vishwas had blamed Bedi for influencing Hazare’s team against attacking BJP, when Hazare’s anti-corruption movement was going-on.

Bedi asked, as reported by ANI, “I am not angry at anyone, and if I was soft on the Bharatiya Janata Party then why did Arvind Kejriwal offer chief ministerialship at that time?”

The Congress, meanwhile, accused both – Kejriwal and Bedi of using the coming polls to attack each other. Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala told ANI, “Kejriwalji and Kiran Bedi are two sides of the same coin. They are trying to gradually convert the Delhi debate into a personal ‘tu tu main main’ (argument) between these two leaders. They do not realise that they were both acting on covert support of BJP and RSS during India Against Corruption. This fact now stands exposed.”

“Arvind Kejriwal must answer to the people of Delhi as to why he did not come out of India Against Corruption and expose Kiran Bedi if she was supporting the BJP during the India Against Corruption Movement? Kejriwal must also answer as to why he kept silent for all these years till Kiran Bedi joined the BJP and became their candidate,” said Surjewala.

Amidst the blame game, social activist Anna Hazare, on Wednesday, criticized the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not standing on his promise to fight against corruption. Speaking to NDTV, Hazare said,  “It is clear that PM Modi is not serious about fighting corruption. In eight months, the government has not given any priority to corruption and there has been no progress on the Lokpal law. We are gathering people for a movement.”

Hazare also said in the interview that he will be launching a campaign against the BJP-led government.
