Rescue operators have found bodies and the debris of the missing AirAsia Indonesia flight QZ8501, from Java Sea, off the coast of Borneo, on Tuesday. The search and rescue agency confirmed the debris was of flight QZ8501, with its chief saying that more than one body had been recovered.
The bodies and the debris were seen floating as search and rescue operations entered its third day, and were being carried out in that zone.
Floating Debris
AFP quoted Indonesian officials as informing that items resembling emergency slide, plane door, were seen in search for Air Asia flight and that they spotted about 10 big objects and many more small white-coloured objects.
AFP further quoted Indonesian navy as saying that more than 40 bodies had been retrieved in Air Asia search.
Tony Fernandes, Group CEO of Air Asia tweeted, “My heart is filled with sadness for all the families involved in QZ8501. On Behalf of Air Asia my condolences.”
He then tweeted, “I am rushing to Surabaya. Whatever we can do at AirAsia, we will be doing.”

As pictures of the debris and bodies were being broadcasted on television, relatives of the passengers were left shocked and tears rolled down their eyes. Reuters was told by its reporter that several people collapsed in grief and were helped away.
AirAsia passenger aircraft QZ8501, travelling from Indonesia to Singapore had suddenly lost control with the ATC, early Sunday morning. The flight was flying 32,000 feet over the Java Sea when it lost control. It had 155 passengers on board, out of which there were 138 adults, 16 children and 1 infant. Apart from the passengers there were 7 crew members on board. The aircraft was an Airbus A320-200 with the registration number PK-AXC.
