The United States military provided weapons, arms and medical aid to the Kurdish soldiers fighting against the Islamic State militants in Syria. The ISIS militants, with the intentions of vociferously advancing towards Syrian cities, are still attempting to capture areas in Syria.

Through airdrops on Sunday, the United States supplied arms and weapons to the soldiers on the battleground through its C-130 cargo plane. Apart from necessary arms and ammunitions, medical aid also was provided to the soldiers. The U.S Central Command confirmed this. In a statement last night, the U.S Central Command mentioned their intention in enabling to provide resistance to the ISIL’s effort to take full control of Kobane (a Syrian city).
Currently, the ISIL militants are trying hard to get Kobane under their control, but Kurdish military forces on ground is giving it a tough fight. Yahoo reported that according to the U.S Central Command, there are indications that airstrikes by the international coalition led by the U.S. has slowed IS advances into the city, killed hundreds of their militants and destroyed scores of their combat equipment and fighting positions.
In the meantime, Iraq has agreed to allow 200 Special Forces personnel to train local troops to combat IS militants. BBC reported Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said the military would now decide when to deploy the Special Forces group.
BBC quoted Ms. Bishop: “”We have reached an agreement for a legal framework and now it will be a matter for our military when our special forces will be deployed.”
