After the Maha-divorce in Maharashtra, the Maha campaigns have begun. Well, as expected, they are proceeding quite interestingly, with politicians from their respective parties hitting out on one another. Earlier, when alliance existed, there were umpteen attempts by each alliance to emerge victorious. But now that alliances have broken and parties have parted ways, each party is trying its level best to compete.
Congress had come out with an advertise saying: sarvatpudheaahe, ha Maharashtra mazha. The BJP’s bypoll advertisement questions this claim: kutheaahe Maharashtra mazha? In the meantime, Congress is projecting ex-chief minister Prithviraj Chavan in their latest advertisement while NCP is projecting Ajit Pawar. Shiv Sena has launched Mission 150 apart from advertisements and campaigns. MNS too, has declared its plan for the state with a punchline: He shakyaaahe.
In short – every party is ready to contest elections on their own, without any support of their allies, trying to prove that only they are best for the development of Maharashtra. As elections approach, every political party wakes up and starts emphasizing on works that they have done. Nothing new, or is it? And even as political parties are trying their best to prove so, statesmen continue to face several issues, including the bigger ones like suicide of farmers, rural and tribal development, unemployment and poverty.
At the moment, when political parties, across the spectrum, are in full swing to contest the big state election, they need to have a full proved plan to tackle these crucial issues.
But for now, all that is occupying headlines is the political blame game. Sena blames BJP for breaking ties while BJP says otherwise. Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has said that BJP intends to divide the state into pieces and MNS chief Raj Thackeray has also hit on the BJP. On the other hand, Prime Minister Modi who is campaigning for BJP says he will “spare” Sena because of his respect for Balasaheb Thackeray, but attacks Sharad Pawar in his rally. And what should one expect next but Sharad Pawar hitting back on him. Keep it aside and take a look at this bit of news: Mr. Modi is going to hold about 15 rallies in the state whereas Rahul Gandhi is holding just two. Just two? Really? Well, that’s too gloomy a figure.
Mr. Modi certainly is trying to bring his wave in the state even as NCP and top regional parties – Sena and MNS, are individually working hard on their bypoll campaigns. Off course, all this was bound to happen, and I am sure much more is yet to come from the state, amidst these on-going political rallies.
Currently, all parties are in the battleground, with one common aim of winning the bypolls and ruling the state. All political goals are justified, but these goals should not just remain up to winning elections and then forgetting the masses. Like always, at the moment too, every party is preaching and promising great things. The latest approach found, is by invoking the great ruler of Maharashtra – Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his idea’s, in speeches. And even as elections are approaching and people are yet to give their verdict, every party is sure about its victory.
Well, victory of every party is impossible but what is possible is certainly not predictable. Besides, in this case, it is going to be interesting to see what the state has in store!
