After the spectacular success of My Glass Of Wine, Kiriti Sengupta, the bestselling author & poet from Calcutta is ready with yet another novelette, The Reverse Tree. As interesting as the title may sound, The Reverse Tree has no particular target, but here Sengupta will let his readers probe the real author. In his own words, “I hope my readers will read and interpret my breaths, and consider humankind, laws and conflicts, and above all, my being as a writer!” Thus, The Reverse Tree has not been designed towards bringing more readers to poetry, but here the author has unveiled himself to his readers in his characteristic, candid way!. The only similarity of this book with Sengupta’s last literary treat My Glass Of Wine being the inclusion of a few poems, and that’s all.
Like all of Sengupta’s other books The Reverse Tree, we strongly believe, will enjoy a global readership. This book is comprised of six chapters: “Anti-Clock,” “In Others’ Shoes,” “Long … A Metaphor,” “Crisis,” “Jet Lag,” and “Reversal … Reverse All.” All these chapters bear amazing illustrations by a few artists of some repute.
Eileen Register, a novelist, and the owner of The International Director of Published Authors (Florida, U.S.A.) has remarked, “Once again Kiriti Sengupta offers a look into his life and his mind. From his discussion of the third sex – comprised of transsexuals, bisexuals and transgender individuals – to an academic yet spiritual look into a selection of his favorite verses from The Geeta, the author once again offers an interesting view of his life and his Indian culture … I have rarely seen the degree of openness and honesty with which this author presents himself and his poetry. It is refreshing.”
Seshu Chamarty, a well-known columnist, translator & poet from Hyderabad (India) has opined, “As any ‘straight’ guy having interactions with all kinds of people he dealt with the subject of alternative way of life while juxtaposing the same with contemporary anecdotes to build up a lucid progression in expression to impact his readers … Sengupta is a masterful narrator in prose and verse through a genre of literature that I may call, ‘soul script’ … Kiriti’s book is one such glorious experiment while being commendably brave, honest, faithful, and complete original, like his every other creation.”
Kiriti Sengupta is a highly acclaimed author & poet having been reviewed in The Hindu Literary Review, and The Fox Chase Review & Reading Series. He enjoys his reputation from being original, and honest with his writings be it in prose or poetry. We are eagerly looking forward the release of The Reverse Tree in October, 2014.
