It was just bread and butter for Petra Kvitova in the final of the Wimbledon 2014 as she took less than an hour to see off Eugenie Bouchard and lift the second Wimbledon title of her career. Eugenie Bouchard the young Canadian simply had no clue whatsoever as Kvitova played some sublime tennis to clinch the title.
Kvitova made a strong start to the match when she tested Bouchard from the first game onwards. Bouchard managed to hold her in the first game of the match but could not do so for more than once in the rest of the match. Throughout the final Kvitova was all over the Canadian and won the match 6-3, 6-0. The first set took just 32 minutes while the second one took just 24 minutes as the 6feet tall Czech did not have to toil hard. Bouchard, on the other hand, just could not get into the game properly and she was just clueless of what was happening on court as nothing was going her way. She could hold her serve twice that too in the first set only and the other game she won came when Kvitova was broken when she was serving for the first set.
In the end it turned out to be an easy outing for Kvitova who previously lifted the trophy in 2011. But this one is relatively much easier than she could have expected it to be. But Eugenie Bouchard who has played some scintillating tennis over the last few days is looking good to become the new superstar of women’s tennis for she looked immensely promising with her calmness. This loss may just turn out to be a turning point of her career.
