India’s largest online retailer Flipkart has launched ‘Scheduled Delivery’ service in the four metro cities – Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. The service will be expanded across India very soon.
The service will allow customers to choose a specific date and time for delivery while placing the order at Flipkart. The customers can choose the exact time and date as early as the next day. However, the service is available mainly on the selected categories in the first phase.
Earlier Flipkart had launched In-a-Day Guarantee Delivery and Same-day Guarantee delivery service in selected cities in India.
“Scheduled Delivery as a feature, serves to enhance the online shopping experience, especially in metros where time constraints are a huge bottleneck for customers. While this is especially true of large appliances – we intend to extend this benefit to other categories soon,” Rahul Chari VP, Supply Chain Engineering, Flipkart explained.
Flipkart has launched its annual subscription service for frequent shoppers early this week at Rs. 500 per year. Flipkart is gearing the competition as Amazon is considering launching Amazon Prime – the most popular premium subscription service in India.
