LG has launched its new flagship smartphone LG G3 in a synchronized events in London, New York, and San Francisco on Tuesday with a catchy tag line ‘Simple is the New Smart’.
The successor to G2, the LG G3 comes with 5.5-inch screen with highest ever resolution screen of 2560 X 1440 pixels.
Runs on Android v4.4.2 KitKat operating system, the G3 is powered by 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. It has awesome 13 megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization and laser-assisted autofocus. It also has 2.1MP secondary front camera.
The new LG G3 is powered by 3000mAh battery and will come in two variants. While the 16GB version will have 2GB RAM, The 32GB version clubs with 3GB RAM. However, both the devices can be expanded up to 128GB storage via microSD cards.
“The smartest innovation in a fast evolving smartphone market is creating harmony between advanced technology and a simplified user experience,” said Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics.
“LG G3 is the result of our effort to actualize that idea into a tangible product. And we are extremely pleased with the result,” he added.
Although the LG G3 is made of plastic but it has a metal looking finish which is scratch resistant. The device can also be charged though wireless and it has an IR sensor that will allow users to use it as remote control for compatible televisions.
“When we introduced G2 last year we talked about learning from you. G2 helped us believe that true innovations can only come from understanding users. We have continued to listen to users and we have found that they don’t want complexity but simplicity,” said Dr Ramchan Woo, head of phone division at LG, adding “Smartphones rely on complicated technologies but we don’t want to users to read manuals before using the device.”
LG G3 is indeed a “New Smart” phone as it has many smart features including Smart Keyboard, Smart Notice, Knock Code and Guest Mode.
The new LG G3 will surely give fight to Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, Xperia Z2 and iPhone 5S.
Although LG G3 will be available in South Korea from May 28, but India may get it latest by July. LG has not yet announced any price for G3.
