Hollywood hunk George Clooney is off the market!

The “Perfect Storm” actor has ended his prolific bachelorhood by getting engaged with British lawyer Amal Alamuddin.

George’s father Nicholas Clooney has confirmed his son’s surprise engagement.

“It’s true, and we’re thrilled. We think Amal is a wonderful girl, and it’s wonderful news. We think it will be a great marriage,” Nicholas Clooney told Daily News on Monday.

“This is their time, and they’ll have their own announcement to make, but suffice it to say, Nina and I are thrilled,” he added.

Clooney’s mother Nina has expressed her happiness with the news.

“We weren’t at all surprised when they told us they were engaged, and we couldn’t be happier for them,” Nina Clooney told Daily Mail.

“On an intellectual level, they are equals,” she said adding, “That is very important to him. Amal’s world couldn’t be more different from the Hollywood lifestyle.”

Amal Alamuddin’s British law firm has released a statement Monday, confirming the engagement.

“The barristers and staff of Doughty Street Chambers offer their best wishes and congratulations to Ms. Amal Alamuddin, a member of Chambers, and Mr. George Clooney on their engagement to be married,” the firm said.

“She brings a bright light to everything she is involved in, and I am so delighted at her happy news,” the chief executive of the law firm, Robin Jackson, told Reuters.

The 36-year-old Amal Alamuddin is renowned human rights lawyer advised. Earlier she has represented Wikileaks founder Julian Assange and a former prime minister of Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko.

The 52-year-old actor was married to actress Talia Balsam in 1989 which ended in 1993. George Clooney then vowed that he will never marry just to avoid being a “lousy husband.”
