A Malaysian plane, Boeing 777-200, carrying 239 passengers, has reportedly crashed into the South China Sea. According to Vietnam media, the flight which left Kuala Lumpur at 00:41 a.m. Saturday, had gone missing just after over two hours. The plane was supposed to land in Beijing at 6:30 a.m.
The 239 passengers include nationals from different countries like China, Vietnam, Indonesia, New Zealand Malaysia, Australia, Austria and US, are now feared dead,. Five Indian were also on board of that ill-fated Malaysia Airlines.
Malaysia Airlines, on Saturday morning, informed that the search operation has began and rescue teams are trying their best to locate the aircraft.
“Our team is currently calling the next-of-kin of passengers and crew. Focus of the airline is to work with the emergency responders and authorities and mobilize its full support,” Malaysia Airlines CEO Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said in a statement.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with all affected passengers and crew and their family members,” he added.
