The BJP has sealed a deal with Ram Vilas Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party in Bihar ahead of 2014 Lok Sabha elections. BJP will give seven seats to LJP including Hajipur, Samastipur and Jamui constituency.
After a meeting between top leaders from both the party the deal got completed. Earlier LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan and BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi met in Delhi and finalized the shaping of the tie-ups.
“The country is passing through a crisis, and only the BJP-led NDA could save the country. I welcome Paswan to the NDA. It shows that Dalits are gravitating towards the NDA and wants Narendra Modi to be PM,” a visibly happy Rajnath Singh told reporters.
The Congress-RJD alliance in Bihar is still in shock with Paswan’s decision and accused him with ‘opportunism’.
Chirag Paswan has earlier said that the decision to go with BJP is due to the tantrum Congress and RJD had been showing with the seat-sharing for the upcoming elections.
Former NDA leader Ram Vilas Paswan’s decision to return to its previous group after 12 years will definitely boost NDA camp. Paswan who had left NDA in 2002 opposing Gujarat Riot will now promote Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to be India’s next prime minister.
