The Supreme Court today stayed the execution of 1993 Delhi bomb blast case convict Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar.
The Khalistani terrorist Bhullar is currently undergoing treatment for his mental health and the apex court has asked report from the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences on his medical condition within next 7 days. The court had said that if the convict is not mentally stable then he could not be hanged.
Bhullar who was sentenced to death by hanging by a split decision in 2001, has recently been commuted to life imprisonment by Supreme Court on account of delayed execution and mental condition.
