Golden Globe 2014: 12 Years a Slave wins Best Motion Picture

The most talked-about movies of last year, 12 years a slave, has won the Best Motion Picture at 71st Golden Globe award ceremony on Sunday night in Beverly Hills. An incredible true story of one man’s fight for survival and freedom, 12 years a slave is also 12-year-slavethe most favourite film to get this year’s Oscar.

Matthew McConaughey won the Best Actor in Drama for Dallas Buyer’s Club and Cate Blanchet snatched the Best Actress awards for her incredible role in Blue Jasmine. Best Director Award went to Alfonso Cuaron for Gravity.

American Hustle also bagged few major awards. Along with Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, it also gave Amy Adams Best Actress award and Jennifer Lawrence Best Supporting Actress award in Comedy or Musical.

Leonardo DiCaprio has won the Golden Globe for best actor in a comedy or musical for The Wolf of Wall Street.

Breaking Bad has won the Best TV Series – Drama and Bryan Cranston won the Best Actor award for it. Michael Douglas won Best Actor, TV Miniseries or Movie for Behind the Candelabra.
