Following the resignation of former SC Judge AK Ganguly as the chief of the West Bengal Human Rights Commission over alleged sexually harassing a law intern, another case has been come into light.
According to recent Indian Express report another law intern has alleged that she was sexually harassed by a then sitting Supreme Court judge who is currently carrying out a post-retirement job, nominated by former Chief Justice of India.
The victim, who is a former student of the National University of Juridical Sciences in Kolkata, has filed an official complaint with Chief Justice of India Justice P Sathasivam in December 2013. In her complaint she said she was “strongly disturbed and upset” by the action of the judge and left her internship mid-way.
The grave of the incident is much more than the AK Ganguly case, as this time the allegation has been made against a sitting Supreme Court judge by the intern of his office.
The Indian Express report suggested that the intern could file a petition seeking action against the former judge.
