Veteran Hollywood actor Peter O’Toole passes away

The Lawrence of Hollywood, Peter O’Toole died on Saturday in London at the age of 81. He had been ill for some time.

Peter O'TooleIrish charismatic actor Peter O’Toole was famous for his epic portrayal of ‘Lawrence’ in the 1962 classic film “Lawrence of Arabia”.

He also acted in several cult films including Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot”, Chekhov’s “Uncle Vanya”, “Becket” (1964), and “The Lion in Winter” (1968). His legendary acting continued in films like “Goodbye, Mr. Chips” in 1970, “The Ruling Class” in 1973, My Favorite Year in 1982 and Venus in 2006.

Peter O’Toole holds the record for the most Oscar nominations, but he never won it. He was honoured with Honorary Academy Award in 2003. He also won four Golden Globes, a BAFTA and an Emmy award.
