India rules on an emotional day

It was an emotional moment for every Indian rather every cricket lover when Sachin Tendulkar came on to field for one final time as a cricketer on the first day of a test Sachin Tendulkarmatch at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It was also a historic moment as the maestro became the first player in the planet to play 200 test matches. It was a moment to cherish for every cricket lovers. Later throughout the West Indian innings Sachin’s name was echoed at the every activities performed by the master.

The best moment of the match, however, came few after the tea when India lost their second wicket while batting after they had bowled out WI within the first two sessions. The whole West Indian team along with the two umpires gave to guard of honour to the little master as he came out of the pavilion to bat. It cant be denied that it was a brilliant gesture on behalf of the Caribbean players keeping in mind the trends that are Ojha took 5 wickets in mumbai test against WIfollowed in cricket in the modern days.

Coming to the cricketing aspects of the match it can be said that the Indians have simply outplayed the West Indian team. The visitors were absolutely clueless in front of the Indian spinners. They played some horrible cricket as the Indians got them out in two sessions only with the score board showing 182/10. Pragyan Ojha had yet another 5-wicket haul as he rattled through the West Indian middle and lower order. Ravichandran Ashwin reached the landmark figure of 100 wickets when he picked up his 3rd wicket. He has taken only 18 test matches to reach such a landmark and is the fastest among all the Indians. Mohammad Shami and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar Sachin's last testpicked up a wicket each.

Indian openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay, once again gave a good start as they picked up 77 runs for the first wicket partnership. Quiet against the run of play Shikhar Dhawan gave away his wicket when he tried to sweep a ball which was outside the off-stump. Vijay got out 2 balls later as WI tried to a comeback into the match. But Cheteshwar Pujara and Sachin Tendulkar made sure that there was no further fall of wicket on the first day. While Sachin is on 38*, Pujara is on 34* with India trailing the score of WI by 25 runs. Sachin has looked as elegant as ever in what he has played until now. A packed Wankhede is quiet obvious tomorrow as the stage is set for Sachin to unfold something special in his final test match.
