Congress leadership has denied the reports of Priyanka Gandhi’s upcoming campaign for the party in Uttar Pradesh and rest of India for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
“We are denying the news of Priyanka Gandhi to campaign for 2014 general elections,” party spokesperson Ajay Maken said.
Earlier reports suggested that Priyanka Gandhi will campaign for the upcoming assembly election in Madhya Prasedh and she would also campaign in the other parts of the country for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
“This is an effort to divert attention from the Madhya Pradesh stampede that some people and channels are spreading this rumour,” Ajay Maken said.
“Priyankaji only campaigns in Amethi and Rae Bareli,” he added.
BJP was quick to react on this unfold drama.
“A party which believes in its dynastic policies is talking about another Gandhi. She has even extensively campaigned during UP assembly elections and we have seen the result,” said BJP spokesperson Nirmala Seetharaman.
