Good news for over 80 lakh Central government employees!
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh constituted the 7th Pay Commission today. The new pay scale will be implemented from January 1, 2016.
“Prime Minister Manmohan Singh approved the constitution of the 7th Pay Commission. Its recommendations are likely to be implemented with effect from January 1, 2016,” Finance Minister P Chidambaram announced.
The new pay scale will cover the salaries, allowances and pensions of about 50 lakh central government employees and around 30 lakh pensioners.
It looks like government tries to woo the central government employees prior to next year’s general election.
