Petrol prices were hiked again on Friday by Rs 1.63 per litre. This happens to be the seventh time hike in just 3 months. The hike will be effective midnight tonight and it would be more after adding up VAT.
The reason is the same old: increasing oil rates in the international market and falling rupee.
While the petrol price in Delhi is Rs 76.06 per litre, in Mumbai it would be cost Rs 83.63 per litre. In Kolkata Rs. 83.63 per litre and in Chennai it would be Rs. 79.55 per litre.
“To give effect to these twin reasons, the Corporation is required to increase petrol prices by Rs 1.63 (excluding VAT) with effect from midnight of September 13-14,” Indian Oil Corp said.
