In protest of dividing the state of Andhra Pradesh and create separate state of Telangana, seven Congress MPs from Andhra Pradesh resigned on Friday.
Six Lok Sabha MPs – A Sai Prathap, Anantha Venkatarami Reddy, C V Harsha Kumar, Vundavalli Arun Kumar, Lagadapati Rajagopal and SPY Reddy have sent their resignations to Lok Sabha secretary general T K Vishwanathan. Rajya Sabha MP KVP Ramachandra Rao put in his paper. Three more MPs may submit their resignation soon.
The anti-Telengana protests continue in several parts of Andhra Pradesh since Congress Working Committee on 30th July announced the formation of Telengala statehood. The demand of revoking the announcement is growing in Seemandhra.
