Venus Williams pulls out of Wimbledon

Five time Wimbledon Champion and former number one, Venus Williams pulls out of Wimbledon  due to her back injury.

The 33-year-old American announced the news on her Facebook page.

“I will not be able to participate in Wimbledon,” Williams wrote. “I am extremely disappointed as I have always loved The Championships,” currently world No. 34 added.

Her sister Serena is the defending champion in this year’s tournament which starts on Monday.

Last year she won her fifth double championship title with her sister Serena Williams who also won the singles title.
