Accused Rajasthan Royals player Ankeet Chavan who was arrested by Delhi police for his alleged connection in the IPL spot fixing scandal, was granted bail to tie the knot on June 2.
Additional Sessions Judge Vinay Kumar Khanna has awarded interim bail to Chavan on Thursday on a personal bond of Rs.1 lakh and a guarantee of equal amount. The bail will be valid till June 6.
Chavan was arrested along with his teammates S. Sreesanth and Ajit Chandila on May 16 by Delhi Police in Mumbai for their role in spot fixing in Indian Premier League matches. Police has claimed that three have received payments from bookies for giving away fixed number of runs in an over.
Meanwhile Vindoo Dara Singh and CSK CEO Gurunath Meiyappan’s custody have been extended till June 3. Police will now question both of them in the presence of hotelier Vikram Aggarwal and bookie Tinku Mandi.
