The pressure mounting on BCCI President N Srinivasan to step down from his post. Former ICC chief Sharad Pawar slammed Board president N Srinivasan on Wednesday and said he wouldn’t have allowed such mess to happen.
Breaking his silence on the IPL spot-fixing scam, Pawar said he supports Shashank Manohar’s suggestion to have the Home Ministry probe into all IPL matches this year.
Meanwhile a Mumbai court on Wednesday accepted a plea seeking a criminal case against N Srinivasan and other BCCI officials. The court will hear the PIL on May 31.
Voice of dissent within BCCI are emering day by day against N Srinivasan. After Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association President Jyotiraditya Scindia, IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla and BCCI vice-president Arun Jaitley asked Srinivasan to step down, today Goa and Assam Cricket Association also demanded his resignastion.
“He has to resign, there is no other option. How can you continue when your son-in-law is involved, he is involved with CSK, it is just not possible to have an impartial probe till he resigns,” said Goa Cricket Association vice-president Shekhar Salkar.
Assam Cricket Association president Gautam Roy also demands Srinivasan’s resignation.
“In the interest of fairness, he should step aside till the investigation is on. That is my personal opinion,” Roy said.
BCCI treasurer Ajay Shirke said Srini should step down till the probe is complete.
“If I was in his place, I would step away from the inquiry. I mean step down till the inquiry is done.”
