Jagdalpur SP suspends over Naxal attack

The Chhattisgarh government suspended Jagdalpur SP Mayank Shrivastava and transferred IG Himanshu Gupta over Saturday’s henious Naxal massacre at the Congress party convoy in which 24 people were killed.

The collector of Bastar area P Anabalagan was also transferred to the state secretariat as Deputy Secretary.

Mayank Shrivastava has been sent to DGP office while Gupta will now serve as IG, Crime Investigation Department (CID).

Ajay Yadav has been apponited as the new SP of Bastar district.

 Arun Deo Gautam will take over IG Bastar range and Ankit Anand the Collector.

Meanwhile MoS Home RPN Singh said there will be no talk with Maoists and there is urgent need for new policy in dealing with the Naxals.

“The Maoists have no respect for human rights. There is a need to re-look the policy dealing with the Naxals. There will be more active operations,” RPN Singh told reporters.

“They are not interested in talks or following the democratic process. There will be no talks unless they abjure violence,” he added.
