Kings XI Punjab thrashed Pune Warriors India by eight wickets in their first match of the IPL 6 tournament at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune on Sunday.
Pune had already lost their opening match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday.
Pune Warriors captain Angelo Matthews won the toss and elected to bat. Kings XI Punjab’s opening bowlers Praveen Kumar and Ryan Harris did not allow Pune batsmen to get off to the fliers.
Punjab captain Adam Gilchrist used his bowlers brilliantly and fielders supported their bowlers with awesome fielding. Pune only managed to score 30 in 8 overs with loss of 3 wickets and eventually made 99 for 9 in 20 overs.
Kings XI Punjab got off to a sparkling start. Punjab reached 50 in 5 overs. Mandeep Singh made 31 off 26 balls and Manan Vohra remained unbeaten on 43.
