The Election Commission of Pakistan has reportedly rejected the nomination papers of Pervez Musharraf on Friday after objection from a local lawyer over charges of impending criminal cases against former Pakistani president.
General Musharraf who came back to Pakistan after four years of self-imposed exile, has announced to contest from four different constituencies in Pakistan’s upcoming general election in May. His nomination paper in Kasur however was rejected by the returning officer. Along with Kasur, he had submitted the papers in Karachi, Islamabad, Chitral.
Musharraf is currently out on bail for 15 days by a local court. He is charged with conspiracy in the killing of Benazir Bhutto and Akbar Bugti.
