Mysore University reserves seats for sexually harassed women

Mysore University has offered seats for victims of sexual harassment and human trafficking under a special quota “Out of Intake”. This is first of its kind reservation in the country.

All colleges and institutes under Mysore University will have two seats reserved for the victims in undergraduate courses and one seat for postgraduate courses. The students will also get 50% concession in tuition fees.

“This is the university’s effort to encourage victims of various circumstances to purse education and bring them to the mainstream,” TOI quoted Mysore university registrar PS Naik’s statement.
