Fresh and diluted charges under the Wildlife Protection Act were framed against actors Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam in a Jodhpur court on Saturday in the blackbuck hunting case.
The charge under the Arms Act against Salman Khan was dropped. If convicted, the actors may face imprisonment up to six years.
The actors allegedly killed two rare species Blackbucks on October 1 and 2, 1998 in Kankani village near Jodhpur while shooting for the film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’. Hunting of Blackbuck is a punishable crime under Wildlife protection Act.
The next hearing will be held on April 27.
