Yulia Tymoshenko, the Ukrainian opposition leader may face murder charges as soon as she will be out of hospital. Yulia Tymoshenko was arrested in 2011 for murdering businessman Yevhen Shcherban in 1996.
“The only thing we are waiting for is the doctor’s decision on when Yulia Tymoshenko is in a good enough condition to participate in the investigation actions as well as be interviewed by the prosecutor in this case,” Renat Kuzmin, the First Deputy Prosecutor General told The Independent.
“I presume everything will happen quite quickly. It will depend on her health condition,” he added.
Yulia Tymoshenko, who has been treated for back and “psychological” problems at a hospital in Kiev, denied charges of assassination of Yevhen Shcherban.
“It’s a totally politically motivated case,” Tymoshenko’s lawyer claimed.
Former Prime Minister of Ukrain Pavlo Lazarenko was also co-accused in this case.
“We also traced the money transfers and we also established that the money in the killer’s bank accounts was transferred from bank accounts of companies which belonged to Yulia Tymoshenko and Pavlo Lazarenko,” Kuzmin added.
