On behalf of government, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath will make a statement on the floor of Rajya Sabha on the allegations against Rajya Sabha Deputy speaker PJ Kurien’s involvement in Suryanelli gangrape case.
To maintain the smooth functioning of Parliament during the Budget Session, Kamal Nath will give a statement either on Friday or on Monday.
BJP and Left have demanded a discussion on Kurien issue and bank strike in the parliament.
In 1996 a girl from Surynelli was kidnapped and raped by 42 men in 40 days. The victim named PJ Kurien’s name among the rapists.
