Serena Williams becomes oldest World Number One

At 31, American Tennis star, Serena Williams became the oldest woman to crown the world number one rank after reaching the Qatar Open semifinals beating Petra Kvitova.

“I’m so sensitive these days, I’m always crying, but I never thought I would be here again. When I was down I heard people cheering for me and I don’t get that all the time. I never thought I would be number one again,” said emotional Serena  in a post match interview on Friday.

Serena beats fellow US player Chris Evert’s record, who claimed number one spot at 30 years, 11 months in 1985.
